Moldovan parliament votes list of medical institutions which cannot be subject to privatization

Chisinau, 9 June /MOLDPRES/ - The MPs today voted a list of medical institutions which cannot be subject to privatization. The provisions are contained in a draft law on the completion of the Annex to the Law on administration and privatization of public property.
Thus, over 20 medical institutions from Chisinau, among which the Chiril Draganiuc Institute of Phthisiopneumology, Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery, Institute of Cardiology, Republican Clinical Hospital, Mother and Child Institute, Oncological Institute, Republican Narcology Health Centre, Republican Centre of Medical Diagnostic will not be able to be subject to privatization and cannot represent object of pledge or of another real guarantee.
The informative note annexed to the draft reads that “the public medical and sanitary institutions represent the pillars of Moldova’s health care system and their subjection to privatization would endanger the health care system as a whole.”
