Moldovan deputy premier awards diplomas to peacekeepers returned from KFOR-6 mission

Chisinau, 09 June /MOLDPRES/ – Deputy Prime Minister Gheorghe Balan participated at the ceremony of decoration the 6th National Army contingent for six months in the KFOR peacekeeping operation in Kosovo, today. The event took place within the Ministry of Defence, the office for reintegration policy’s information and media communication service has reported.
During the event, Gheorghe Balan held a speech welcoming the return of the military service men to the motherland and thanked them on behalf of the Government of Moldova for sacrifice, patriotism and professionalism.
"You are probably the best representatives of our state, as real ambassadors in the missions you fulfill" – mentioned Gheorghe Balan.
Also, during the event, the Deputy Prime Minister awarded diplomas of Moldovan Government to some military men, in gratitude and high appreciation of their special merits.
"You manifested the necessary training to act in an international environment, you proved that the Republic of Moldova is not only a consumer of security but also a state that, together with other international partners, promotes security and other theatres of peace maintain operations which are in the world" – concluded Gheorghe Balan.
The 6th National Army contingent was in Kosovo from 06 December 2016 – 08 June 2017. For six months, Moldovan officers and non-commissioned officers carried out security and guard missions to military and patrol purposes, as well as missions of demining.
