Moldovan-Polish political consultations on European integration held in Chisinau

Chisinau, 13 June /MOLDPRES/- Moldovan-Polish political consultations on the European integration were held today at the Foreign and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE). The Moldovan delegation was led by Deputy Minister Daniela Morari and the Polish one by Jan Hofmokl, deputy director of Eastern Department, Plenipotentiary of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland for the Eastern Partnership, the MAEIE information and media relations service has reported.

Topics discussed during the consultations focused on the relations of Moldova with the EU, cooperation in the Eastern Partnership, as well as the bilateral cooperation agenda. The Polish side reconfirmed its support for Moldova’s European integration path, noting the need to continue efforts to implement the reforms and the importance of turning to good account the opportunities of the Eastern Partnership.

The Moldovan official informed the interlocutors about the progress in the implementation of the EU-Moldova Association Agreement, developments of the political dialogue, as well as the priorities of cooperation with the EU in the short and medium term. In the context of efforts at level of EU and EaP countries to build a new stage of development of the Eastern Partnership, the delegations exchanged opinions about the development prospects. It was noted the need to synchronize efforts to achieve concrete results at EaP Summit in November 2017 and in 2020, the importance of identifying measures that would come to meet political ambitions of the EaP countries to get closer to the EU.

At the same time, the delegations approached various issues on bilateral cooperation, opting for continued political dialogue, by organizing high-level visits and boosting contacts in the business.
