Moldovan president set to create Civil Society Council

Chisinau, 13 June /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon intends to create a Civil Society Council. The head of state made statements to this effect at a news conference today.
The Moldovan president is set this Council to become a platform and an efficient instrument of cooperation between the presidential institution and the civil society. “I have earlier informed about the launch of more initiatives; I mean the foundation of the Economic Council and the Civil Society Council under the Moldovan President. Thus, in last February, the Economic Council was created and the Platform for the setting up of the Civil Society Council was launched today,” Dodon said.
The Moldovan president noted that the first meeting with decision-makers was convened today; the participants in the event ruled to create 13 commissions within this Council. “Among the commissions, there are the ones for integrity and legal expertise, for constitutional reform, for mass media, Diaspora and health care, the commission for sport, etc. Till the end of the month, the heads of the commissions will select ten persons each from the civil society, who will be members of these commissions. Subsequently, about 130 persons will be approved by decree as members of the Civil Society Council,” Igor Dodon said.
The CVs for including as members of the Civil Society Council can be submitted to the address of the Moldovan Presidency; afterwards, all candidacies will be considered.
