Chisinau, 13 June /MOLDPRES/ – The petrol and diesel fuel prices will reduce on Wednesday by 3.3 per cent and 5 per cent, respectively, after an insignificant increase between 31 May – 13 June 2017. The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) set the trading price for Premium-95 for June 14-27 at the level of 16.57 lei per liter and for diesel 13.96 lei today.

It is the first time in the last two months when diesel prices fall below 14 lei per liter and record the largest decrease in this period. On 16 – 30 May , fuel prices fell by 4.7 per cent and 4.1 per cent respectively, while petrol prices reduced by 2.6 per cent and 3 per cent in prior period.

New petrol and diesel prices will take effect at midnight. Since then, operators will not have the right to retail fuel at prices higher than the ANRE set ones. The prices, displayed on ANRE's electronic page today, will be valid for 14 calendar days.

The oil price continued to rise on 12 June, despite skepticism by experts on the efforts of OPEC member countries and other states to reduce oil surplus on the international market. The Brent raw oil price rose 1.4 per cent on Monday, up to $ 49.25 a barrel, but at the end of the transaction it went down to $ 48.4 a barrel.
