Chisinau, 14 June /MOLDPRES/ - The electronic communications services market was marked by a 3.9-per cent drop of the sales turnover in the first quarter of 2017, against the same period of the year before. The revenues in the electronic communications sector decreased to 1 billion 568.5 million lei, reads a report by the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI), published today.
It is the second year in a row that the electronic communications are in decline, after a 3.3-per cent decrease in the first three months of 2016.
The diminution of revenues in the first quarter of this year was triggered by a decrease in the sales on three market segments, except for the Internet sectors at fixed and mobile points, which recorded a 17.6-per cent increase, ANRCETI experts said. Despite the general tendency on market, the revenues in the sectors of mobile Internet and fixed Internet grew by 48.4 per cent, and respectively, 11.5 per cent. Decreases were registered in other sectors, the mobile and fixed telephony, other activities in the concerned field.
According to the report, the highest rate of revenues drop – over 22.5-per cent – was registered on the fixed telephony services market. A relatively lower decrease rate was recorded on the market of services of broadcasting and re-broadcasting of audiovisual programmes – 5.9 per cent and on the mobile telephony market – 4.3 per cent.
Starting from 2012, ANRCETI has been working out and publishing quarterly reports on the evolution of the main indexes on all segments of the electronic communications market. The reports are compiled based on statistic data reported to ANRCETI by providers working in the electronic communications sector.
