Exhibition dedicated to Moldovan-Polish diplomatic ties inaugurated at National Library

Chisinau, 15 June /MOLDPRES/ – An exhibition entitled "The 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations’ establishment between Moldova and Poland" was inaugurated at the National Library of Moldova (BNM) today.
National Library’s Director Elena Pintilei mentioned in her speech that the exhibition has contained over 250 books and documents, which referred to the Moldovan-Polish relations, civilization, history and culture of Poland. "Here we also have books about Polish cities from the library collections, as well as stories about the great writers of this country – Adam Mickiewicz, Henryk Sienkiewicz, Wladyslaw Reymont," quoted the source.
The BNM’s Director thanked the Polish Ambassador to Moldova, Artur Michałski, being at the end of his mandate, for organizing various cultural activities on Polish culture and handed him the institution’s nobility.
At his part, Ambassador Artur Michalski expressed his gratitude for the support he enjoyed in his work from the Culture Ministry, the National Library and other cultural institutions.
Attending the event, Andrei Chistol, State Secretary of the Culture Ministry, stressed that exhibition has contributed to a better knowledge of Polish culture and reflected common history.
Also, an exhibition of documents and images of "Moldovan-Polish interferences in the 19th-20th centuries" was organized and prepared by the National Archive of Moldova (ANM).
The Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Poland established diplomatic relations on 14 July 1992.
The exhibition will be open until 30 June.
