PM says there are all premises in Moldova to have good development of electronic trade

Chisinau, 22 June /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip today participated in the opening of a forum dedicated to the online trade. The event brought together entrepreneurs and young people fond of the IT sector, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
In his greeting message, the PM said that the commerce activity gained a greater and greater share in Moldova, and the cabinet would further undertake needed measures to facilitate its development. “People have no longer time to go to the market or shop; they already use to make acquisitions on online platforms and here those who produce should take care. To have access to a large market, one should have access to the online commerce,” Pavel Filip said.
The prime minister also said that a string of amendments had been already made to the law on electronic trade, to adapt it to the present needs. Also, the boosting of the information technologies sector is ensured by provisions of the national strategy Digital Moldova 2020 and ones of the law on IT Parks.
“In Moldova, there are absolutely all premises to have a good development of the electronic trade and not only, of all fields in need of use of IT platforms. Let us not forget that we have a wideband Internet coverage exceeding 98 per cent, we have a very well-developed infrastructure and we have laid the foundation for training IT specialists,” the PM added.
The forum is organized by Moldova’s Business People Association and SalesZone.
