Chisinau, 22 June /MOLDPRES/ - The citizens of the State of Qatar, Kuwait and People’s Republic of China, who hold stay permit or a visa, except for the one of transit of an EU member state, will be able to travel visa free to Moldova. The parliament adopted a draft law to this end today.
The new amendments to the legislation are aimed at enhancing Moldova’s attractiveness through promotion of economic advantages among potential foreign investors. This, given that Moldova has access both to the eastern market, through the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Agreement and to the western one, due to the Free Trade Agreement with EU.
According to the amendments to the law on the nationals of third states, who are obliged to have a visa and the nationals of third countries, who are exonerated from obligation to hold a visa, the citizens of the aforementioned three countries will be able to stay in Moldova for a period of 90 calendar days during any period of 180 days. If the stay exceeds 90 calendar days, the nationals of the third countries will be obliged to hold a long-stay visa, in line with the provisions of the law.
