U.S. Government provides Moldova with 4.1 million dollars

Chisinau, 27 June /MOLDPRES/ - The Government of the United States has ruled to provide the Moldovan cabinet with additional assistance worth 4.1 million dollars within the Drug Control and Law Enforcement programme, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.   

The support provided will be used to promote the supremacy of law in Moldova and, in particular, will regard the backing of efforts in the fields of consolidating justice and the judicial reform, fighting corruption, trafficking of persons and the organized crime.

The initial agreement letter on drug control and law enforcement between the governments of Moldova and the United States was signed on 28 August 2001. Thus, the U.S. Government annually earmarks resources for Moldova to attain European and international standards in the field of law norms enforcement and justice sector.
