Chisinau, 28 June /MOLDPRES/ – Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca remains in home arrest, after the magistrates of the Court of Appeal rejected the lawyers’ appeal today, who demanded his release and investigation at large.
Dorin Chirtoaca was present at the hearing of the Court of Appeal. He said the decision of magistrates would be unfounded. “Today, the same arguments were put forward. What happens to me is unfair. We will do our best to persuade the law enforcement authorities that I did nothing but to exercise my work duties,” said Chirtoaca.
The Mayor of Chisinau was detained at the end of May by anticorruption prosecutors and officers of the National Anticorruption Center (CNA), suspected of having influence in the case of paid parking lots.
