Chisinau, 29 June /MOLDPRES/ – Speaker Andrian Candu discussed at the meeting with Dafina Gercheva, UN Resident Coordinator and Permanent Representative of the UNDP in Moldova, the completion of the work on Parliament’s new webpage, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.
Dafina Gercheva called for additional performance tests for the new Parliament webpage, developed with the UNDP Moldova’s support. This is because the latest site tests have shown that the product did not meet the quality criteria set out in the project specification.
At his part, Andrian Candu reminded that, according to the recommendations of the independent experts employed for this project, the web page in the presented formula could not be launched at that time.
The parties discussed several solutions to the situation. Following consultations, it was decided that additional expertise would be contracted to analyze and compare the technical requirements formulated by Parliament versus the capacity of the developed web page. It was also established that within a short deadline, solutions will be presented for launching a functional website of the Legislature.
The current site was developed in 2009 and does not meet the inclusive standards of transparency and cooperation with society adopted by Parliament. At the end of 2014, UNDP Moldova selected the first company to create a new web page to ensure better access for the public to information on Parliament's work, including the legislative and control process. Subsequently, another company was contracted to complete the project by May 2017.
