Hot weather to maintain in Moldova on next days too

Chisinau, 29 June /MOLDPRES/ - The heat will maintain on the next days and the weather will cool in this week-end.  

Contacted by MOLDPRES, a meteorologist at the State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS), Natalia Canter, said that, on 30 June, the air temperatures would go up to +32 - +37 degrees and on 1 July – to +35 - +39 degrees.   

“The Yellow Code remains valid for the time being, but on 30 June, it might be changed to Orange Code for a part of the country’s territory,” Canter noted.

At the same time, the SHS representative said that, on 1 July evening, the air temperatures would be influenced by a cold wave and on 2 July, the air temperature will be +27 - +32 Celsius degrees. The tendency of decrease of the air temperatures will maintain during the next week too, varying between +22 and +27 degrees.   

According to the Civil Protection and Emergency Situations Service (SPCSE), during the last two days, more than 5,000 people have appealed to anti-heat rehabilitation tents. Rehabilitation points are set in the Chisinau and Balti municipalities, as well as in the districts of Cahul, Causeni, Ungheni, as well as in the Gagauz-Yeri Autonomous Territorial Unit. In the last 24 hour alone, 4,126 persons benefited from assistance. People can protect themselves from sun and heat and in case of feeling bad, they benefit from qualified care. The tents will remain set on the days with high temperatures during 11:00-18:00.       

At the same time, physicians warn elderly people, children, pregnant women, chronic patients and others to avoid getting outdoors during the day, when air temperatures hit the maximal values. On the dog days, preferable clothes should be of light colours or natural, cool linen and the head must be covered.
