Chisinau, 30 June /MOLDPRES/ – Former member of the Parliament Chiril Lucinschi remains under home arrest, after the magistrates of the Court of Appeal rejected the lawyers appeal today, who demanded his release and investigation at large.
The information was confirmed for the agency by the spokesperson of the Court of Appeal, Octeabrina Popa. "Last week, the first court extended the arrest warrant for Lucinschi for another 30 days, and the magistrates of the Court of Appeal upheld the decision," said Popa.
Chiril Lucinschi was detained by CNA officers on 25 May 2017, and together with three representatives of an economic agent are suspected of money laundering.
According to the CNA’s public relations service, the former MP, being the manager and the beneficial owner of Toast Delux SRL and IPA International Project Agency, along with intercepted individuals, would have committed money laundering in several episodes. If found guilty, the ex-legislator and his three accomplices risk up to 10 years in prison. This one still pleads innocent.
