Moldovan deputy minister receives representative of American Jewish Committee

Chisinau, 30 June /MOLDPRES/ – Deputy Foreign and European Integration Minister Lilian Darii met with Dr. Sam Kliger, director of relations with Russia and Eastern Europe of the American Jewish Committee today, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.

The interlocutors exchanged opinions on Moldovan-American relations, highlighting the quality and intensity of cooperation between Moldova and USA, including in the context of the recent re-launch of the Moldova-United States strategic dialogue.

A special theme was the activities of Moldova in the field of commemorating the victims of the Holocaust. Deputy Minister Darii informed about the recent adoption of the Action Plan for the implementation of the Declaration of the Parliament of Moldova on the acceptance of the Report of the International Commission on the Study of the Holocaust, chaired by Elie Wiesel.

The parties also referred to the cooperation of Moldova with the International Alliance for the Holocaust Memorial and the prospects for further development of that collaboration.

Dr. Sam Kliger praised the important achievements of the recent years of Moldova, including in combating anti-Semitism and preserving the living memory of Holocaust victims, confirming the willingness of the American Jewish Committee to continue to support Moldova in it.
