Balkan Informatics Olympiad opens in Chisinau

Chisinau, 03 July /MOLDPRES/ – The Balkan Informatics Olympiad opened in Chisinau today.
The Deputy Education Minister, Elena Cernei, stated that Moldova is honoured to host the 25th issue of the Balkan Informatics Olympiad. "We are glad that the most talented pupils in the Balkan region of Europe will have the chance to demonstrate their knowledge and skills in informatics, and we, the hosts of the Olympiad, will make every effort to provide the best conditions during the competition," said Cernei.
Around 50 pupils from 12 countries – Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia and Turkey – participate in the Olympiad. "Today we do not imagine our existence without the new technologies and you are the ones who cheer us with your deep knowledge in this field. Our thanks to sponsors, while to pupils we want we should like to wish success and achievements in the future," said Cernei.
The Balkan Informatics Olympiad is held for the second time in Moldova. The competition will take place on 03-08 July 2017.
