Business Forum: Moldova - Together for strengthening economic growth, takes place in Chisinau

Chisinau, 03 July /MOLDPRES/ – The Business Forum "Moldova: Together for Strengthening Economic Growth" took place in Chisinau today, gathering over 200 participants. The event was organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Moldova (CCIM) in partnership with the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB) and the European Business Association (EBA), under the auspices of the Moldovan Government.
In his speech at the Forum opening, Finance Minister Octavian Armasu said that the event took place at the 19th Annual Meeting of the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank and provided a good opportunity for discussion in Jointly with representatives of several international financial institutions, business associations and infrastructure development experts, regarding the trends in the regional markets and the Moldova’s potential for business development.
"I want to mention that the priority task of Moldovan Government is an economic growth based on investment, production and export, and less on remittances, as it has been till present. As to achieve this goal, we intend to rely on stimulating economic policies for entrepreneurial activity, improve the business climate and increase the country's investment attractiveness," said the Finance Minister. He expressed the hope that the current event would round up with new projects, especially in those areas with real opportunities, even at present.
In turn, Ihsan Ugur Delikanli, chairman of the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank, said that, "only well-defined international cooperation will stimulate the economic growth of a state." In the context, the cited source pointed out that Moldova was going through an complicated economical period, and that event brought together economic agents from several states who wanted to provide assistance for the growth of the national economy.
Ihsan Ugur Delikanli also appreciated the BSTDB's partnership with the CCIM, as that cooperation, by his opinion, brought together a large number of representatives of the business environment at the Forum today.
The Chairman of the CCIM, Sergiu Harea, said that the event aimed at providing opportunities for establishing connections between investors and businessmen interested in investing in Moldova and the Black Sea region. The quoted source said that during the years, the CCIM had a fruitful collaboration with the Black Sea Trade and Industry Chambers and the BSTDB and expressed his belief that good cooperation would continue.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Moldova signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the BSTDB within the Forum.
