Chisinau, 03 July /MOLDPRES/ – The Civil Aeronautical Authority (AAC) of Moldova will request comprehensive information on circumstances of operation of the Heraklion – Chisinau flight plane from the colleagues in Armenia, which, following the flight failure, returned to the departure airport on 02 July and hundreds of people stayed in the airport for more hours.
According to the AAC’s public relations service, the FlyOne flight was operated by an Armenian aircraft being under wet lease, not letting the AAC to get involved into investigation of the aeronautical event. According to the provisions of the European SAFA foreign aircraft verification system, the report on operating conditions will be examined by the Armenia Authority for Air Navigation under which the aircraft is monitored.
Also, immediately after returning from Heraklion to Chisinau International Airport, the Civil Aeronautics Authority will initiate the SAFA inspection of the aircraft in order to determine the subsequent airworthiness conditions.
The AAC also urged all passengers of the race, including those who were late, to seek compensation, which is guaranteed by the Regulation on compensation and assistance to passengers in the event of refusal of boarding and cancellation or long delay of flights.
Also on 03 July, FLY ONE said the incident was due to a signal coming from the aircraft's command system, which required additional checks. However, the crew of the aircraft decided to return to the airport where the ship was subjected to additional technical checks. There were 170 passengers aboard who were accommodated and secured with food. They are to be transported to Chisinau on 03 July.
