Moldovan prime minister suggests having direct contact with European institutions

Chisinau, 05 July /MOLDPRES/ – The progresses within the Moldova-EU Association Agreement implementation, as well as the conclusions of the discussions held with the European officials recently, were presented at the meeting of the Governmental Commission for European Integration (CGIE), chaired by Prime Minister Pavel Filip, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Andrei Galbur, said that by the end of July, the Report on the implementation of the National Action Plan for the implementation of the Moldova-EU Association Agreement in the first half of 2017 would be published. Hereafter, Pavel Filip asked the authorities to mobilize as to fulfill the established actions in due time.

Also, the head of the Cabinet of Ministers emphasized the importance of communication between the Moldovan authorities and the European institutions.  "I have discovered a lot of untruths based on information that is interpreted in Brussels. Therefore, beyond the work we do, we must take care to have direct communication," said Pavel Filip.

Also, at the meeting, it was presented information on recent Moldova-EU meetings held in Chisinau. Among them: the EU-Moldova human rights dialogue, the meeting of the Moldova-EU Association for Freedom, Security and Justice, and the reunion of the Moldova-EU Subcommittee on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures. There, it was noted the progress made by Moldova in the implementation of the undertaken commitments and outlined the objectives for the following period.
