Chisinau, 05 July /MOLDPRES/ – The implementation of the energy efficiency project of the Orhei Hospital was examined on site today, with the participation of the Minister of Regional Development and Constructions, Vasile Bitca.
The official stressed the importance of the project, which would have a regional impact. "By effectively implementing this regional development program, we will improve access to quality public services and utilities for about 300 thousand citizens of Orhei district. The interventions involve work that will increase the hospital's energy efficiency. I want to say that the objective of any project we do is to build the future at home," said Vasile Bitca in the discussions with the institution administration and employees.
The Orhei district head, Tudor Golub, expressed his conviction that the project would be a successful story. "We have a good collaboration with the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction and I am sure we will complete this project successfully. The impact will be regional because the services of this medical institution also benefit citizens from neighbouring districts," said Golub.
At his part, Director of Centre for Regional Development Centre (RDA Centre), Viorel Jardan, assured that the project would be implemented in due time.
The hospital in Orhei district will be energetically rehabilitated from the sources of the National Fund for Regional Development (FNDR), which will allocate 8.6 million lei for it. For 2017, the National Coordination Council for Regional Development approved from the NDF the amount of 3 million lei. According to the project, thermal insulations of the exterior walls, the ceiling of the basement, the floor and the replacement of the windows are to be carried out within the institution. The local authorities said that they would reduce energy consumption in the building by up to 30 per cent and protect the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Previously, the Orhei District Hospital benefited from important investments from the ADR Centre, which by the technical and financial support of the International Cooperation Agency of Germany, developed several development projects. Thus, the perinatal centre was renovated, capital repairs were made in the pediatric, therapeutical blocks, three thermal points were installed and the heating system was rebuilt.
