Moldovan prime minister meets with European Commissioner for health

Chisinau, 05 July /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister Pavel Filip met with European Commissioner for Health and Food Safety Vytenis Andriukatis today, who pays a visit to Chisinau.
At the end of the meeting, the two officials held a press conference announcing the topics they had examined.
"It is an expected visit that we agreed at the beginning of this year. These discussions focused on the developments in the Moldova-EU Association Agreement, as well as the short and medium-term priorities in the areas of reference," said Pavel Filip.
"I express gratitude to the European partners for their support in endowing and accrediting national laboratories which we hope will soon allow us to improve food control at national level and offer us the possibility to export more goods to the EU, which is important for Moldova. Meanwhile, I am glad to announce a concrete cooperation outcome, namely the EU decision of 09 June 2017 to declare the national system of checking and certification of seeds and seed material equivalent to the EU one, which will allow us in the future to export this product to the European market," said Filip.
The head of the Executive said that during the meeting with the European official, there were also discussed issues related to the state of implementation of reforms in the health system.
European Commissioner for Health and Food Safety, Vytenis Andriukatis, appreciated the efforts of the authorities and was convinced that good cooperation with EU partners was important for the population of Moldova.
