Regulation on studies of foreigners in Moldova to be published in Official Journal

Chisinau, 06 July /MOLDPRES/ – The regulation on the studies of foreigners in the educational institutions of Moldova will be published on 07 July 2017 in the Official Journal of Moldova.
The new provisions aim at increasing the attractiveness of the national education system for foreign citizens and improving the quality of the provided educational services.
The document regulates the organization of studies of persons from other states, and the procedures for the admission of foreign citizens to general and technical education institutions are established in a detailed manner. Regarding it, as to streamline the registration procedure, the number of documents, to be submitted to the Education Ministry, was reduced.
Also, the regulation establishes the admission terms to higher education in Moldova for the bachelor, master and doctoral cycles and regulates the procedure for the transfer of foreign students, both from educational institutions abroad and within Moldova. The citizens of other states will be able to opt for study programs in Romanian or authorized international languages, admission being conditional on passing a language test.
According to the regulation, educational institutions providing educational services to foreigners will be responsible for the qualitative organization of the training process, the authenticity and veracity of acts in files of foreigners submitted to the Education Ministry, the familiarization of persons admitted to studies with the legislation regarding the regime of foreigners in Moldova and the submitting of the statistical reports on the number of registered foreigners.
At present, around 4400 foreigners from 52 countries of the world are enrolled in educational institutions in Moldova.
