Moldova, Lithuania celebrate 25 years from establishing diplomatic relations

Chisinau, 06 July /MOLDPRES/ – Deputy Foreign and European Integration Minister, Lilian Darii, participated in the launch of the special stamp "25 years of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Lithuania" and the personalized brand with the representation of the maps of both states, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Moldova and Lithuania today.
According to the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service, the event took place at the Embassy of Lithuania in Chisinau and brought together the members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Moldova and representatives of the Lithuanian Diaspora.
Deputy Minister Darii mentioned the active and effective political dialogue, expressing thanks for Lithuania’s support for the domestic reforms and the European integration aspirations of Moldova. The Moldovan official also expressed hope that Moldova, like Lithuania, would find itself in a perspective future in the large family of EU member states.
The Lithuanian Ambassador to Chisinau, Rimantas Latakas, said that Lithuania supported strengthening bilateral relations, intensifying trade and economic exchanges, strengthening cultural ties, and has always advocated giving an EU perspective to Moldova.
Note: The Republic of Moldova established diplomatic relations with the Republic of Lithuania on 10 July 1992.
