Framework for improving medical services’ quality approved by Moldovan government

Chisinau, 10 July /MOLDPRES/ – The Executive approved the Regulation on the mode of keeping the Medical Register of the integrated medical information system, at its meeting today.
The government’s communication and protocol department has reported that the Regulation establishes how to collect (update) and analyze data on events occurring in the health system and how they are transformed into information used in decision-making on disease prophylaxis, treatment and patient rehabilitation, efficient management of resources in public and private healthcare institutions.
The Regulation also stipulates the subjects of the legal relations in the field of setting up and functioning of the Medical Register, the rights and obligations of the owner, the holder and participants in its creation.
Other provisions of the document cover procedures for data collection and management, interoperability with other registers and information systems, how to ensure an adequate protection level of personal data, and how to protect such data.
The Health Ministry is the owner and holder of the Medical Register, which aims to increase the quality and efficiency of the services provided by the medical institutions, putting the subject of patient care first.
