Meteorologists announce yellow code of upcoming heat in Moldova

Chisinau, 10 July /MOLDPRES/ – The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) announced the yellow code for weather conditions throughout Moldova on 11-12 July, today.

According to meteorologists, after a relatively cool and rainy week, the heat falls back on Tuesday and Wednesday. During this period, on a large part of Moldova’s territory the maximum air temperature will reach 33ºC and higher. At night, the thermometers will indicate 18-21ºC.

The yellow code provides conditions of potentially dangerous weather, the forecasted meteorological phenomena are common for Moldova but temporarily can pose a danger to certain socio-economic activities.

During this time, doctors recommend to avoid exposure to sun, especially for the elderly persons, chronic patients, infants and pregnant women. Similarly, preference shall be given to clothing made of natural cloths, of light colours, the heads shall be covered and more liquid (preferred flat water or herbal teas) shall be consumed, while alcohol being excluded.
