Moldova to propose four candidates for legal positions at European Court for Human Rights Registry

Chisinau, 11 July /MOLDPRES/ – The Justice Ministry (MJ) today closed the contest for the selection of candidates for four positions of second-level lawyers at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) in Strasbourg, France. The files of the four candidates selected by the MJ will be submitted to the Council of Europe (CoE) for the final examination.
According to justice ministry’s public relations service, the four candidates are Ruxanda Revencu, Tatiana Iurco, Lilian Apostol and Cornel Sotnic. The proposals from the Chisinau authorities will be forwarded to the CoE, which will organize the final contest for the nomination of the winners.
The delegated lawyers will not be employees of the ECHR or CoE. They will be involved in the work of the Registry and will provide assistance in case of applications against Moldova.
The initial term of the contract will be one year, with the possibility of extending it for a new term. The terms of remuneration, social guarantees and other compensatory payments will be determined by an individual agreement of the selected person with the Government of the Republic of Moldova.
The Justice Ministry announced the organization of the competition on 31 May 2017.
