Lifts to be exploited by new requirements in Moldova

Chisinau, 13 July /MOLDPRES/ – The lifts will be exploited on the basis of new requirements, according to a draft government decision that will be published tomorrow in the Official Journal of the Republic of Moldova.

The document provides lifts’ accurate operation, maintenance and repair rules designed to avoid a failure situation. Also, the act regulates the registration procedure, the way of putting the lifts into operation, their dismantling, duties and responsibilities of the service personnel.

It also provides for a set of measures necessary for reliable operation, including technical verification with a periodicity of at least every 12 months and a general overhaul in case of major earthquakes, shutdown of more than 90 days or expiration of the operating period of the lift.

The compliance with security requirements will help protect public interests such as people’s health and safety, consumer protection, industrial and fire safety.
