Economic agents to be able to bring only qualitative, safe medical equipment to Moldova

Chisinau, 13 July /MOLDPRES/ - Economic agents will be able to bring only qualitative and safe medical equipments to Moldova, under a law due to be published in the Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial) of Moldova on 14 July.     

The law on medical devices sets the procedure of assessment and registration of medical apparatus imported to Moldova. Also, the act sees recognition of the quality of the equipments certified by the European Union and simplified registration procedures are envisaged for the apparatus made in other states than the EU ones.   

The document reads that the process of management of apparatus will be monitored through the information system of medical devices’ management. This represents a database implemented at the public medical institutions, Health Ministry and the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices. The system will ensure the observance of the rules on the correct use of the equipments.    

The working out and approval of the law on medical devices is a measure provided for in the national action plan on the implementation of the Moldova – European Union Association Agreement.  

The law will enter into force three months after the date of publication.
