Chisinau, 13 July /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu has encouraged the civil society to help work out a new legal framework to regulate the activity of non-commercial organizations. Candu made statements to this effect at a parliament plenary meeting, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
“There is still much work to be done on this draft, which, for the time being, is not a draft law. Besides the national experience, the draft needs international expertise on behalf of the Council of Europe. This draft will not be voted either by the government or by the parliament, unless there is not a notification by the Council of Europe,” Andrian Candu noted.
The parliament speaker invited representatives of the civil society, experts and representatives of the authorities to participate in public discussions organized by the Justice Ministry and contribute with proposals to improve the draft.
The working group was set up at an initiative by NGOs, in last March and is to elaborate a legislative framework due to replace the law on public associations and the law on foundations.
