Chisinau, 14 July /MOLDPRES/ - The Foreign and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE) has firmly condemned a new launch of a ballistic missile made by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in early July 2017. This action triggers a new escalation of tension in the Korean Peninsula and represents a major challenge to peace globally, the MAEIE information and media communication service has reported.
The continuation of such actions by the North Korean authorities represents a violation of more resolutions of the UN Security Council, including the Resolution 2321, passed in last November.
Moldova fully shares the deep concerns of the international community about the actions with destabilizing effect on the security situation in the Korean peninsula and the adjacent regions and urges the Pyongyang authorities to give up the policy of nuclear armament and get involved in a reliable political dialogue with the international community, in particular, in the format of negotiations of the six sides, reads a press release issued by MAEIE.
