International Monetary Fund Mission to pay working visit to Chisinau

Chisinau, 16 July /MOLDPRES/ - A mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), led by Ben Kelmanson, will pay a visit to Chisinau on 17-21 July.
A press release by the IMF representation in Moldova reads that ‘’this will be a working visit and not a mission to evaluate the implementation of the programme with IMF. The visit’s goals is to be informed about the macroeconomic situation and discuss the budgetary and fiscal policy, monetary policy and other relevant policies, in anticipating the second assessment of the programme, scheduled for the next autumn.’’
‘’No declaration on the conclusions made following the visit will be issued at the end of this mission. Such working visits outside the standard cycle of programme evaluations are part of IMF’s usual practice, when it is about the countries having programmes backed by IMF,’’ the press release issued by the IMF representation in Chisinau also reads.
