International Financial Corporation to provide Moldovan government $3.2 million technical assistance for consultancy project

Chisinau, 19 July /MOLDPRES/ – The International Finance Corporation will provide the Government of the Republic of Moldova with $3.2 million as technical assistance. The decision on initiation of negotiations on Consultation Agreement with the international financial institution was approved on 19 July by the Cabinet of Ministers.

The agreement has as general objectives to improve the business climate in the agricultural industry, increase the competitiveness of the private sector market in order to enhance exports and investments in Moldova. The consultancy services will be offered in three areas: improving the business environment, strengthening market access with an emphasis on the agro-industrial sector and increasing the level of investment protection.

The document will be signed for a period of three years. The Ministry of Economy was mandated to hold negotiations with the CFI.
