Moldovan PM submits new government's structure to parliament

Chisinau, 20 July /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip today submitted a petition to the parliament, thereby demanding priority consideration of the new structure of the government, in the context of the need to carry out the central public administration reform,  the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The new structure of the government includes the following ministries:

Economics and Infrastructure Ministry
Finance Ministry
Justice Ministry
Foreign and European Integration Ministry
Interior Ministry
Defence Ministry
Education, Culture and Research Ministry
Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry
Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Ministry

The list of the aforementioned ministries comes from the change of the name and taking over activity sectors, as follows:

The Economics Ministry will take over the activity fields from the Transport and Roads Infrastructure Ministry and from the Information Technology and Communications Ministry, as well as the sector of constructions from the Regional Development and Constructions Ministry, with the change of the name into the Economics and Infrastructure Ministry.  

The Culture Ministry will take over the activity fields from the Education Ministry, from the Youth and Sport Ministry and the research sphere from the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, with the change of the name into the Education, Culture and Research Ministry.

The Labour, Social Protection and Family Ministry will take over the activity sector from the Health Ministry, with the change of the name into the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry.  

The Regional Development and Constructions Ministry will take over the activity fields from the Agriculture and Food Industry Ministry and from the Environment Ministry, with the change of the name into the Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Ministry.

After the approval by the parliament of the list of ministries, the government, in a three-month term, is to undertake needed measures to reorganize the structure of the central specialty bodies of public administration, in order to submit to parliament proposals on adjusting the legislation in force to the new structure of the central specialty bodies of public administration and to ensure the adjusting of its normative framework.

It is worth mentioning that, on 20 January 2016, the parliament, through its Decision No1, gave to the government vote of confidence for carrying out its activity programme. As for the Good Governance, the government assumed, as foremost goal, the implementation of the central public administration reform, including through the optimization of the number of ministries and public authorities and administrative costs.
