Romanian government donates 96 minibuses to Moldova

Chisinau, 21 July /MOLDPRES/ - The government of Romania donated Moldova 96 school minibuses. The vehicles’ transmission took place at a today’s ceremony in Chisinau, in the presence of Prime Minister Pavel Filip and his Romanian counterpart Mihai Tudose, on an official visit to Moldova.
The donation includes 96 minibuses meant for carrying pupils, of which 95 vehicles are of the 16+1 places on chairs type and one car is meant for the transportation of persons with reduced mobility, equipped with two special places with rolling chairs.
At a news conference, Prime Minister Pavel Filip specified that the school minibuses represent a very important assistance for Moldova. “I express gratitude to the authorities of Romania for this gesture. We will be able to provide qualitative education to our children. At the same time, we thank for the repair of hundreds of kindergartens and for the 5,500 scholarships Romania is offering to students from our country. Both the government and the country’s citizens are grateful to you,” Filip said.
For his part, Romanian PM Mihai Tudose noted that the Romanian state would further back Moldova “The assistance for kindergartens, schools, transport, access to education, as well as the scholarships offered to students are aimed at strengthening the relations between the two states. All these actions represent an extra chance for the citizens and children from Moldova,” Tudose said.
The donation was provided for in a memorandum signed by the governments of the two countries. The document sees providing assistance in the education sector, respectively continuing the programme on donation of school minibuses. In September 2014, the government of Romania provided another 100 minibuses for schools from Moldova.
