Chisinau, 21 July /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip and Romanian PM Mihai Tudose today participated in an official ceremony on transmission of those 96 school minibuses meant for carrying pupils – a donation from the government of Romania, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
On this occasion, PM Pavel Filip highlighted the weight of the event: “This is a very important assistance, in the context of the reform in education and schools’ optimization, so that we can provide qualitative education to our children.”
At the same time, the prime minister expressed gratitude to the Romanian nation and the government of Romania for the constant support provided to Moldova. “Romania has always known to be by the side of Moldova and to directly contribute to its development. I have repeatedly said that, when Moldova was facing difficulties, our brothers from Bucharest were the first to give a helping hand,” Pavel Filip said.
For his part, Romanian Prime Minister Mihai Tudose reiterated the support for Moldova, both in the political and strategic sectors. “The joint efforts are aimed at improving the living standards, beginning with kindergartens, ending with schools, to transports and access to education, culminating with the scholarships provided by the government of Romania to students from Moldova, which do nothing but strengthen the relations between our countries,” the Romanian official said.
In the context, Mihai Tudose welcomed the reform of the education system from Moldova. He described the compatibilization of the education systems from the two countries and with the European one as a chance for pupils from Moldova and a foundation stone in our country’s integration into the European Union.
The donation of minibuses was made based on a memorandum on providing assistance in the education sector, signed at a Romanian cabinet meeting from 22 March 2017. It is about 96 minibuses, of which one is meant for the carriage of people with reduced mobility. In September 2014, Romania donated Moldova another 100 minibuses for pupils.
