Ukrainian experts take knowledge of Moldova's experience in Transnistrian conflict settlement process

Chisinau, 22 July /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister Gheorghe Balan, during a job trip to Kiev, on 21 July had a meeting with a group of experts in conflict management from Ukraine, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.
The goal of the meeting was to familiarize representatives of the associative sector from Ukraine with Moldova’s experience in the Transnistrian conflict settlement process. Gheorghe Balan referred to the evolution of the situation in the present dialogue platforms, up-to-date subjects on the agenda of talks, Moldova’s visions as for their viable settlement, role of international partners in this process and enumeration of the positive actions undertaken by the constitutional authorities to back the residents and economic agents from Moldova’s eastern districts.
The Transnistria-related problems and Moldova’s experience in managing the concerned file aroused increased interest for Kiev-based experts. The latter put a string of questions, made comments, expressed opinions on the aspects tackled. The Ukrainian experts also stressed the need to continue the dialogue underway by paying study visits to Chisinau, in order to collect facts in detail on this dimension, strengthen the bilateral cooperation, exchange good practices and lessons learned. The Kiev experts emphasized the indispensability of implementing joint projects meant to help advance the process of settlement of the conflicts on the territory of Moldova and Ukraine.
