Moldovan parliament votes increase in teachers' salaries

Chisinau, 22 July /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament, at the last meeting of the spring session, voted the increase in teachers’ salaries starting from 1 September 2017, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.

The new regulation sees an 11.3-per cent rise in the office salary for teachers from the general, vocational and higher education, financed from the state budget.   

Thus, the both the leadership and the teachers from the higher education institutions financed by the state, teachers from the general and vocational education and the educators and staff with didactic duties from kindergartens will benefit from higher wages.

The quantum of the financial means needed to increase the salaries to teachers, for  three months of 2017, is estimated at about 94 million lei.
