Moldovan head of state signs decrees for dismissal of two ministers

Chisinau, 25 July /MOLDPRES/ – Moldovan President, Igor Dodon, signed the resignation decrees of Health Minister, Ruxanda Glavan, and Minister of Youth and Sports, Victor Zubcu, today. A reguest for it was put forward by Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, as part of the Government’s reform implementation.
The announcement was made by the President of Moldova in a social networking post. "I signed the decrees to dismiss two ministers. As I have mentioned many times, I support the reduction of the administrative apparatus, the number of ministries and I advocate for their effectiveness – qualitative and not numerical," said Igor Dodon.
Under the Government's reform, the Ministry of Health was merged with the Labour Ministry, which is to be headed by the current Minister, Stela Grigoras. Also, the Ministry of Youth and Sport will be part of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, which is to be headed by the current Minister of Culture, Monica Babuc.
On 07 July, the Parliament voted the Law on the Government in its final reading. The new structure of the Executive includes nine ministries: the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, Ministry of Health, Labour and Social Protection, Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment. The reform is to be implemented for three months.
