Moldovan military academy finishes first phase of future officers' admission to education

Chisinau, 25 July /MOLDPRES/ - Over 60 candidates have passed the examinations of entrance to the Alexandru cel Bun Armed Forces’ Military Academy (AMFA). Twenty four out of the 62 candidates are girls.

According to AMFA commander (rector), colonel Igor Plop, this year, more than 140 young people submitted files to the admission commission, of whom only 62 ones were selected. The rest of the candidates failed to meet the conditions provided for in the institution’s regulation on admission.     

During two days of testing, 15 girls and 47 boys passed the intelligence test, as well as the one of physical training; run races at a distance of 100 metres (girls and boys), 1,000 metres (girls), 3,000 (boys), tractions at fixed bar (boys) and raising the body (girls). The young people admitted to the academy will take a four-week integration course held at AMFA, within which they will learn the military regulations, front instruction, tactics, and in the end, they will carry out fire activity at the Bulboaca-based Military Training Base, eastern Anenii Noi district.    

Colonel Plop added that, to complete the 75 places put up for contest by the institution in 2017, the second stage of admission will take place on 31 July – 24 August. 

Upon ending the education, the graduates receive the primary “lieutenant” rank of the body of officers, the B category driver’s licence, as well as a job in the National Army.  

It is worth mentioning that, during the four years of education, the military students benefit from free of charge training, accommodation, equipment and nourishment.
