Moldovan-Kyrgyz round of political consultations takes place in Bishkek

Chisinau, 26 July /MOLDPRES/ – A round of consultations between the foreign ministries of Moldova and Kyrgyzstan took place on 25 July, in Bishkek. The Moldovan delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Lilian Darii, and the Kyrgyz delegation by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emil Kaikiev, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.
During the consultations, the officials made an extensive exchange of views on the current issues of the agenda of the relations between the Republic of Moldova and the Kyrgyz Republic, especially with regard to the prospects of strengthening political contacts and developing interaction in areas of mutual interest. In the context of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Moldova and Kyrgyzstan, the interlocutors made a brief overview of the evolution of bilateral relations during this period, appreciating their positive and friendly character.
The officials also exchanged views on ways to boost bilateral trade and economic ties, highlighting the need to launch the activities of the joint intergovernmental commission for commercial and economic cooperation.
Similarly, the discussions focused on inter-ministerial interaction, the extension of bilateral legal basis, cooperation within the frameworks of international organizations as well as regional development.
