Moldovan government to undertake additional measures to increase employment level

Chisinau, 27 July /MOLDPRES/ – The National Action Plan (PNA) for 2017 for the implementation of the National Employment Strategy for 2017-2021 will be published in the Official Journal of Moldova on 28 July.
The actions are focused on achieving of four objectives of the National Employment Strategy (SNOFM): creating formal, non-discriminatory and productive employment opportunities, developing human capital for increased employment opportunities, better labour market management, capitalizing on potential of migration for sustainable development.
Especially, the development of the small and medium-sized enterprises sector is being pursued, the extension of the industrial park network and the free economic zones (ZEL), so that it offers more jobs, especially in rural areas. Referred to strengthening the link between the labour market and the vocational training system in Moldova, active "school-enterprise" partnerships will be promoted, career guidance services be developed and volunteer activities be supported.
Regarding labour migration, there will be strengthened the institutional and legislative framework necessary for the management of this phenomenon and opportunities for legal employment of foreign workers will be diversified.
During 2016, out of the 50,000 unemployed registered with the National Employment Agency (ANOFM), 17,600 ones were placed in the labour market, while the number of vacancies registered at the employment agencies constituted 44,6 thousand in number. The unemployment rate in 2016 at country level recorded 4.2 per cent, with no significant changes compared to 2015.
The financial means necessary for the Action Plan’s implementation amount to MDL 1.2 billion, which are to be covered from the national public budget and from external resources.
