Moldovan socialists' party have new MP in parliament

Chisinau, 28 July /MOLDPRES/ – The municipal councilor, Petru Corduneanu, is the new MP in the Parliament from the Party of Socialists of Moldova (PSRM). He will take the place of a member of the socialist faction, who died a week ago.
His deputy mandate was validated by the Constitutional Court on 27 July.
At the parliamentary elections in November 2014, Petru Corduneanu was on the 30th place on PSRM’s electoral list.
At present, Corduneanu is a municipal councilor on behalf of the socialists. He is 54 years old, is retired and a colonel.
Petru Corduneanu was the head of the Public Order Directorate of the Ministry of Interior Affairs and was investigated as a result of the April 2009 events. He, along with his deputy, Dumitru Rusu, was accused by former MP Valentina Cusnir of mistreatment on the night of 07 – 08 April 2009. Thus, after a long trial, the two were acquitted by the Chisinau Court of Appeal. In the trial, Corduneanu and his deputy pleaded innocent.
