Chisinau, 01 August /MOLDPRES/ – The transport means over 3,5 tons and passenger transport with capacity exceeding 22 seats will now have traffic restrictions through the common border crossing Palanca.
The Customs Service stated that the restrictions were applied in connection with the reconstruction works of the Palanca border crossing point.
Thus, during the reconstruction works, the transport units in the specified categories will be redirected to the customs office Tudora.
Also, the Palanca customs station will remain functional for the other types of transport, passing through a temporary customs post.
The expansion and modernization of the Palanca crossing point is carried out within a project financed by the European Union, co-financed by the Moldovan Government and implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Moldova. According to the project, the works are due to be completed by the end of 2018.
The establishment of joint control at this crossing point is aimed at streamlining cross-border traffic as well as ensuring greater transparency in the conduct of controls.
