Chisinau, 1 August /MOLDPRES/ - The Customs Service of Moldova and the General Directorate of Customs from Romania will undertake actions to ease the cross-border traffic in August.
The actions provide for the redistribution of the number of customs employees within both customs administrations, use of all control lanes, as well as synchronizing actions with representatives of the territorial structures of Border Police.
Also, contact persons will be nominated, who will be members of joint groups of risk analysis; the activity of carrying out the customs control based on the principle of selectivity will be thus optimized.
At the same time, to ease the traffic, in July 2016, the Green Corridor was launched at four of the most demanded customs checkpoints: Sculeni, Leuseni, Giurgiulesti and Tudora. Therefore, the citizens holding no goods needing to be declared may opt for the Green Corridor, while the Red Corridor is meant for people who carry goods implying the payment of related taxes.
Data by the Customs Service shows that August is the month with the highest traffic values at the Moldovan-Romanian border, with the flow of crossings by transport means recording an increase of more than 20 per cent.
