Moldova to pay about 120 million lei to international organizations as membership dues in 2017

Chisinau, 2 August /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers, at a today’s meeting, approved a list of international and regional organizations, to which Moldova is to pay membership dues and debts. The sum due to be paid from the 2017 state budget to those 68 parliamentary organizations, international organizations and organizations of the Commonwealth of Independent States is of 119.9 million lei.
Under the decision, the biggest sums will be paid to the World Health Organization, World Labour Organization, United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, Council of Europe, International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, part of the World Bank Group and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
The fulfilling of the financial commitments to international and regional organizations, Moldova is a member of, represents an important objective in the process of promotion of the foreign policy and the positive image of the country as a reliable partner, as well as in turning to account the potential of member of the international structures, the Finance Ministry said.
