Meteorologists announce orange code of heat in upcoming days in Moldova

Chisinau, 02 August /MOLDPRES/ – The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) announced the Orange Code of Heat for 02 – 05 August.

According to meteorologists, the maximum air temperature in the upcoming days will reach values ​​between 35-38ºC.

Also, at the end of the current week and the beginning of the following week in the north of Moldova, there are possible rainfalls with electric discharges. In the central and southern areas of Moldova the rain could occur on 07 – 08 August.

In the case of the Orange Code, the weather conditions manifest a real danger, with dangerous high-intensity phenomena being projected (storms, floods, hail, heat, flood risk, etc.) that can adversely affect socio-economic activities and cause some substantial material damage and human victims.

The Civil Protection and Emergency Situations Service will resume the work of anti-cancer rehabilitation points. Totally, there were set 17 tents in Moldova, and at 10:00 – 18:00, people can benefit there from water and qualified medical care.

The doctors also warn the population, especially those ones with chronic illnesses, elderly people, pregnant women and children, to avoid exposure to the sun during the hot period hours. It is advised not to neglect hydration, excluding the alcoholic beverages’ consumption.

At their turn, the veterinary inspectors recall the risk of dietary toxins, which is increased on hot days, warning that food storage conditions, especially for products which are easily altered, should be respected.
