USA ready to help Moldova at reform process in defence sector

Chisinau, 03 August /MOLDPRES/ – The USA is ready to help the Republic of Moldova at the reform process in the defence sector. A statement in this regard was made yesterday by U.S. deputy commander of the U.S. Force in Europe, Major General, John Gronski, during a meeting with National Army Commander, Brigadier General, Igor Cutie, on 02 August 2017.

The military officials addressed issues related to bilateral cooperation on the military dimension, the current security context, as well as other topics of common interest. General John Gronski expressed his hope that joint military training activities, beneficial to Moldovan and American armies, will have continuity and will take place in bilateral and multinational military exercises.

At his part, General Igor Cutie thanked for the constant support that the USA has provided to the National Army through various assistance and training programs, with emphasis on military training in U.S. specialized schools, endowment with equipment and technical units, as well as activities and exercises conducted jointly by the National Army with the National Guard of the State of North Carolina.

During his visit to Moldova, General Gronski observed, at the Military Training Base of the National Army at Bulboaca, the deployment of Dragoon Pioneer exercise, where participated over 140 soldiers from the National Army and National Guard of North Carolina, United States.

The U.S. Deputy Commander of the U.S. Force in Europe, Major General, John Gronski, and a North Carolina National Military Delegation mission are pay a working visit to the Republic of Moldova on 02 – 03 August 2017.
