Russian inspection Rosselhoznadzor bans import of 20 tons of plums from Moldova

Chisinau, 03 August /MOLDPRES/ – The specialists from the Russian Rosselhoznadzor Phytosanitary and Veterinary Service in Kursk and Orlov regions banned import of 19.7 tons of plums from Moldova on the Russian market, the supervisory authority said in a press release, today.
"After carrying out the phytosanitary control of quarantine, larvae of the Eastern moth (Grapholitha molesta Busck) were found in the plum," said the communiqué. Rosselhoznadzor added that import was banned in accordance with existing plant quarantine legislation and in order to prevent the spread of pests on the territory of the Russian Federation.
