Chisinau hosts inter-ministerial political consultations of Moldova, Israel

Chisinau, 09 August /MOLDPRES/ – A round of Moldovan-Israeli inter-ministerial consultations took place in Chisinau today. The Delegation of Moldova was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Lilian Darii, and the Israeli one by Deputy Director-General of Israeli State Department, Alexander Ben-Zvi, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.
Deputy Minister Darii pointed out the importance of the cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and the State of Israel during the 25 years since the establishment of the diplomatic relations between the two states on 22 June 1992. The Moldovan-Israeli cooperation was appreciated both on the bilateral dimension and within the different international organizations.
The agenda of the talks included a number of topics of mutual interest, such as the extension of the bilateral legal framework, the employment of Moldovan citizens in Israel, the commemoration of the victims of Holocaust and the consular assistance to the citizens of Moldova and Israel, especially within education, agriculture, social assistance and domestic affairs domains.
The officials stressed the need to organize during the current year the 5th meeting of the Moldovan-Israeli Inter-governmental Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation. In this context, they expressed the interest in enhancing the Moldovan-Israeli bilateral political dialogue, intensifying cooperation in the field of attracting investments, as well as strengthening contacts between business communities of Moldova and Israel.
