Chisinau, 9 August /MOLDPRES/ - A policeman from the Orhei city, who would have sexually abused an underage girl and then attended her raping, was dismissed following an internal investigation. The head of the General Police Inspectorate (IGP), Alexandru Pinzari, made statements to this effect on a social network.

The IGP chief noted that an internal investigation had been started in the case of the policeman, which found out that the latter proved an inadequate behavior and attitude lacking integrity and dignity.

“He was disciplinarily sanctioned with dismissal. Such behavior is not tolerated among policemen; they run the risk of being punished according to the legislation in force,” Pinzari wrote on a social network.

The policeman from Orhei, who would have attended the raping of an underage girl, was detained for 72 hours and is charged with having himself sexually abused the victim in his office. Under the pretext that he has to consider a complaint, the policeman brought the 16-years-old girl to the Orhei Police Inspectorate, where he abused her sexually.

The policeman was detained one week following the arrest of two residents of the Vatici village, criminally prosecuted for raping the underage girl. The case took place on the night of 22 to 23 July, at a nightclub in the Pelivan village, when the suspects who knew the victim, tempted her in a vehicle and sexually abused the  girl by force. The case occurred in the presence of the policeman who was at the wheel. If found guilty, the three persons run the risk of being sentenced to up to 12 years of imprisonment.
